The chore jacket’s older sibling, the work coat traces its roots to early 20th-century workwear, shaped by the demands of the Industrial Revolution.

Cut from a rinse-washed 6.7oz cotton-linen cloth, the fabric has a soft, broken-in handle from the first wear, with a breathability and texture that comes into its own as the days grow warmer. The silhouette is deliberately boxy and relaxed, borrowing from the straightforward proportions of factory coats and workshop jackets, designed to layer easily and move without fuss.

Three patch pockets at the hip, plus an additional pocket at the rear, provide generous storage and nod to traditional atelier and studio garb, while raglan sleeves, corozo buttons, and a checked lining bring a quietly sartorial note.

The result is a working coat in spirit, but one that sits just as comfortably with tailoring as it does with denim.

There’s something profoundly reassuring about workwear. It was never designed to be fashionable, and yet it has found its way into wardrobes the world over. These were garments made to earn their keep: thrown on at dawn, worn hard, and trusted to last. Our version carries that same sense of purpose, filtered through a more considered, modern lens.
