Red Cotton-Nylon Down Jacket

Size Guide

A down jacket, but not an overly technical-looking one.

Our version takes a few ideas from 1960s and 70s mountaineering clothing and brings them somewhere considerably less dramatic.

Made from a 7.2oz cotton-nylon fabric from Como, Italy, it is filled with down and quilted horizontally, with a roomy shape, stand collar and elasticated cuffs and hem. Large angled pockets give you somewhere to keep your hands warm, while a two-way zip and drawcord at the hem make it easy to adjust when the weather turns.

The sort of jacket that would have made good sense on an early expedition, and makes just as much sense on a cold Tuesday.

  • 57% Cotton, 43% Nylon Outer
  • Made in Italy
  • Down Filling
  • Stand Collar
  • Elasticated Cuffs and Hem
  • Two-Way Zip
  • Internal Pockets
  • Nickel Hardware
  • Leather-Tipped Drawcord Adjusters

The modern down jacket has its roots in the mountains. George Finch wore his homemade eiderdown jacket on the 1922 Everest expedition, an early example of the basic idea that would go on to shape modern outdoor clothing: how to stay warm without carrying half a wardrobe up to the summit.
