Drake’s Radio Ep. 25: Nick Lowe

"Welcome to the room before and after our live shows! This is a small selection of tunes that you might be likely to hear if you come to see me and Los Straitjackets. We try to cater to all tastes; both on stage and in ambient terms – the background music to our audience arriving and leaving is an integral part of the evening’s entertainment.
We keep it fresh each tour by adding and subtracting to it as we go…For example I was reminded of how great The Stylistics’ tune ‘Rockin Roll Baby’ is when I heard it on Boom Radio the other week. ‘Wearin’ That Loved On Look’ by Elvis Presley is our customary outro music, ‘Baby Are Yeng’ by Nancy Jacob and her Sisters is one we just can’t shake. We’re always keeping an ear out for cool current acts too and good examples are here in the shape of Langkamer from Bristol and Willie J Healey from Oxford. If we’ve done our job properly then there should be something here for everyone. And shuffle…!"
