Los Angeles is a driving city. I am in the car more than I would like now. I often listen to classical music to calm my nerves as I crawl through traffic. Concentration is critical when dodging speeding neon-hued Lamborghinis and tourists on Bird scooters. But sometimes, I want music with a specific tone and tempo. Relatively upbeat and made with guitars. The era doesn’t matter. This is a selection of those songs, new, old, somewhere in between—music for when the lights are green.
